SASSA has introduced a significant rise in social grants, upping it to R4,500 plus Dearness Allowance (DA) as of the October 2025 disbursement. This measure is expected to benefit nearly 7.8 million South African pensioners. The increase takes into account the DA element, which is designed to offset inflation and cost of living issues.
