What Does This R10 Really Mean?

OTHER GRANT AMOUNTS AND CHANGES
In addition to the R10 increase in some grants, here is what is confirmed for various grants:
– Old Age Grant and Disability Grants: Various sources arrive at a figure R2315 (60-74) and R2335 (75 and above), payable from October.
- Child Support Grant: Confirmed at R560 per child.
- Foster Care Grant: Confirmed at R1250.
- SRD/Social Relief Grant: Remains at R370 (after previous increases).
These amounts are stated as final adjustments, and they are to be effected at the October 2025 pay-out.
The Dates of Grant Payment: October 2025
According to an announcement by SASSA, the October payment schedule is set as follows:
- Payment Date (October 2025)
- Older Persons’ Grant: Thursday, 2 October 2025
- Disability Grant: Friday, 3 October 2025
- Children’s Grants (Child Support, Foster, etc.): Monday, 6 October 2025
- SRD/Social Relief of Distress: From 24 to 30 October 2025
Recipients should bear in mind that the SRD normally goes out later in the month while most other grants get paid in the first week.

- No steps need to be taken for the increase: Most beneficiaries will be paid the increased amounts automatically.
