SASSA R10 Social Grant Increase October 2025: Payment Schedule & Beneficiary Guide

“]With the Pay Day of October 2005 as reference, a R10 increase will be added to all social grants by SASSA.  Sponsored by the government in respect of its scheduled grant increase for 2005 to mitigate inflation and aid poorer recipients, beneficiaries are assured that this R10 top-up will be smoothly coupled into their usual payment. 

Old-age social grants are being enhanced as follows:

  • Old Age (60-74 years) R2,310 to R2,320
  • Old Age (75+) R2,330 to R2,340
  • Disability and Care Dependent and War Veteran Grants all go up by R10 each.

SASSA has come out with the payment

Schedule for October 2025 to conform with the increase:

  1. Old-Age Grants: 2 October 2025
  2. Disability Grants: 3 October 2025
  3. Child and other dependent grants: 6 October 2025

These dates are matching previous disbursement patterns, so beneficiaries will interestingly be aware of the fund release. It is also advised to withdraw after the scheduled date instead of all on the same day to avoid crowding at payment points.

Which Grants Are Top-Up Grants and The Beneficiaries

All primary social grants are topped-up with R10, containing:

  1. Old Age (60–74 and 75+)
  2. Disability Grant
  3. Care Dependency Grant
  4. War Veteran Grant
  5. Other dependent grants such as foster, child support, etc.

The R10 top-up will be automatically added to the amounts beneficiaries currently receive; no application is required. SASSA systems are ready to administer the adjusted amounts during their routine payments. Beneficiaries should verify that their banking, contact, and personal information are up-to-date to avoid missing the increase or unfair delays. 

Getting Ready for an Advance 

To get ready for the application of the R10 top-up smoothly, here is what you should do: 

  • Check your information with SASSA: bank account, ID, address, contact information.
  • Know your date of payout: be aware of which day your grant has been scheduled for in October.
  • Make withdrawals or cash collections after the date of payment: you are not pressured to go out the exact moment at cast.
  • Keep an eye on your account: ensure that the extra R10 has been deposited.
