SASSA R370 SRD Grant October 2025: Full Payment Dates & Eligibility Explained

What is the SRD? The monthly R370 cash grant provided by SASSA is for unemployed people who do not receive any other social grants. It is designed to enable poor citizens to meet basic needs in times of economic stress.

October 2025 Payment Window & Dates

The SRD payments for the month of October 2025 will be run in the last week of the month, from about 25 to 30 October.

Beneficiaries with approved applications will see the payments hit the bank within 2 to 3 business days from the processing end window.

Contrary to fixed single-day grants, SRD payments are given out in batches, meaning some recipients may receive their cash on different days.

Why the Payment Window Varies

The payments undergo several operational factors. SASSA processes these grants en masse and based on timing affected by:

  1. Backlogs in verification and approvals
  2. Banking system settlement timing
  3. Public holidays or weekends typically delay transfers
  4. High volume of applications during peak months

This is why the payment window is stretched out across many days, rather than a fixed single pay date.

How to Find Out if Your Application Has Been Successful

This is how you look to see if your SRD payment is to be made:

  • Go to SASSA’s SRD status portal (srd.sassa.gov.za) and enter your ID and phone number.
  • Use the Moya app, which has zero-rated access to the “SRD SASSA” service and allows you to check status without incurring data charges.
  • Alternatively, use the USSD codes: *120*3210# or *120*69277# to access the status menus.
  • Call the SASSA helpline on 0800 60 10 11 and ask for your payment status. Some third-party status checking websites also give estimated SRD date ranges (e.g., 25-30 October).

Beneficiary Pre-October Checklist

  1. Make sure your banking and personal details as SASSA have recorded are up to date.
  2. Bits of information regarding status will be given in alerts to show when your payment is being processed.
  3. Take note of possible delays caused by weekends and public holidays that slightly push the pay-out date.
  4. If you do not see money reflect from 25 to 30 October, plus a couple of business days, then it may already be time to pay your local SASSA office or helpline a visit.
