South Africa is preparing for the October 2025 social grant payment. SASSA (The South African Social Security Agency) which is the main body responsible for making the payment, took the very good step of releasing the grant schedule one month before the regular payment day. In addition, as of September 1, 2025, new grant applicants are required to undergo a biometric registration process through either their fingerprint or facial scan in order to prevent any possible cases of fraud.
