South Africa War Veteran Grant 2025 – Updated Amounts And Who Qualifies

In law, the SASSA War Veterans Grant is a social assistance grant extended to those who have served in the historical wars, such as World War II, the Korean War, and the like. Grant increases pertaining to 2025 have been given effect in the recent social grant increases. The timer below gives the major information.

Amounts Updated Up to 2025

By SASSA, from the 1st of April, 2025, all types of permanency grants including that of a War Veteran were seen to have been increased. Hence, the War Veterans Grant is R2 335 per month. Prior to this, at the very beginning of 2025, it stood fixed at R2 205, the payments generally being affected on an annual or bi-annual basis with inflation and general price increase pressures prevailing at any given time. Approval for the War Veteran Grant to all those on or before 2025 shall-Court-Payment is to be done at the amount of R 2,335 on a monthly basis in accordance to the contractual agreement made with SASSA.

  • The grant is normally backdated to the date of application if it is approved.

4. Review, Suspension or Lapse

  • Suspension of your grants could take place if your conditions had changed (e.g. increase in income, increase in assets, refusal to respond to review).
